Welcome to the Northwestern Riding and Driving Club (NWRDC) website.
NWRDC is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1967.
The goal of our organization is to promote good fellowship and to provide recreation among and for horse lovers, young and old.
To support our mission, we maintain 30 acres of land in North Fairfax, Vermont for equestrian events, such as Horse Shows, Gymkhana, and Pee Wee Gymkhana.
The grounds include a grass show ring with track for the horse shows, a sand arena for gymkhanas and jumping events, and a race track area that is currently being revitalized into an equine play ground area.
Members in good standing are allowed to use this property for practice and, with prior permission from the club, other personal equine related events.
Highlights of our history:
In the Spring of 1968, a riding ring was under construction. The first NWRDC Horse Show was held on June 30, 1968.
In 1969, pony owners participated in the Champlain Valley Fair harness races.
In 1975, a new ring was built and it’s 100′ x 200′ met the American Horse Show Association specifications. It is one of the largest show rings in the state of Vermont.
Please join us as we continue to celebrate all things equine!
